I do not listen to my instincts/heart, they cannot be trusted, only my mind is rational for measuring my actions.
This may not have been true back when we had tigers and starvation, instincts use to be vital for survival, but now we have Zoos and Oreos we can spend the time and calories on thinking.
You are right that instincts approximate fast, though today, a safe plentiful world, we have more time to actually think accuratly. Emotions are useful for motivation and empathy for others with emotions, but they should not lead you. Intuition can prompt you with the questions to ask, but should not be allowed to make conclusions.
You make a valid point—our modern world does allow for more deliberate thinking. However, instincts and intuition have evolved for a reason; they often serve as reliable guides, especially when time is limited or data is incomplete. While emotions shouldn’t lead us blindly, completely sidelining them may strip decisions of the human element. Perhaps the ideal balance is letting reason refine our instincts rather than replace them.
