I once went to a summer camp where the students would ask the leader what they should do in life, what type of job should I get, who they should marry, etc, and he said it doesn't matter as long as you do it to the glory of God. In a similar fashion it doesn't matter what you do as much as where you aim what you do. Sure there's strategies to maximize your existing resources including skills time energy etc, but even if you do something outside your skill set you'll learn those skills too, so again whatever you do do it on purpose and match your's with His.
